Raw Material Testing
Raw materials are quarantined in our facility until tested analytically, meaning, for cleanliness, (like yeast and microbials). Once cleared, we test the raw materials from the manufacturing perspective of practicality.
Our team tests for things like flowability, particle size, and density, knowing all these factors impact capsule manufacturing. Is your supplement going to be in tablet form? We test those materials for compressibility and cross-ingredient degradation.
Finished Product Testing
Finished products go through a series of stringent microbial, heavy metals, FTIR, AAS and HPLC tests at Herbal Science laboratories before being passed for delivery to our customers.

In practice, this means improving on our quality assurance systems, and implementing stringent tests to identify and analyze all of the herbs that pass through our doors. Towards this end, Herbal Science has continued to invest and expand its laboratory facilities.
Batch Production Control
Batch manufacturing records are essential for ensuring that your products are produced safely and consistently. They provide a detailed and organized record of all the steps in the manufacturing process. This includes raw materials and packaging, as well as any intermediate processes such as blending, mixing, and packaging.
Batch records also provide a valuable audit trail to ensure that your product meets all regulatory requirements and standards. They enable Herbal Science to track the production process and make necessary adjustments for future batches.
Complete Personal Protective Equipment
Proper apparel protects product and employees from potential contaminants and adverse exposure. Production staff in white areas are always wearing face and hair masks, always fully suited including specially cleaned shoes.
Quality control staff ensure personal protective equipment is worn properly and at all times by those in production areas.
Blending
Double-verification of weighed ingredients for the supplement batch formula is performed to ensure correct materials and weights are blended into each product.
Blending rooms are inspected and swab tested for contaminants prior to every batch, and approved by quality control staff for production.
Supply Chain Quality Control
Each vendor is audited and validated to ensure Herbal Science quality standards are met.
Vendors include all raw material suppliers, HVAC equipment and machine equipment suppliers, pest control contractors, laboratory equipment suppliers, RO water system engineers, building maintenance contractors, IT equipment providers and many others.
Batch Manufacturing Records
Establishes a Product’s Quality Standards: Batch manufacturing record documents the step-by-step processes used to manufacture a product. This information can then be used to set quality standards that must be met during production.
Provides Traceability and Reproducibility: Batch manufacturing records provide an audit trail of each product that is produced. This allows the manufacturer to trace the product back to its original raw materials and reproduce the product if needed.
Enhances Product Safety: With detailed records, Herbal Science can quickly identify and recall products that may have been contaminated or have otherwise become unsafe for consumption.
Ensures Regulatory Compliance: The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, Malaysia uses batch manufacturing records to ensure that quality standards and safety protocols are being followed.
Improves Efficiency: By having detailed batch records, Herbal Science can streamline our production process and reduce the amount of time it takes to produce a product.
Facilitates Communication: Batch records often serve as a way for different departments, such as quality control and production, to communicate with each other. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and that the product being produced meets the required standards.
Weighing
Documentation details the amounts of material required for each batch. Each ingredient is weighed by one individual then verified by a second individual.
Weighing rooms are inspected and swab tested for contaminants prior to every batch, and approved by quality control staff for production. Weighing machines are professionally calibrated at least once annually.
Double-verified raw material batch weights create a chain of quality controls allowing a product batch to then stage for the blending process.
In-Process Quality Control Inspections
Herbal Science trained Quality Control Staff inspect each stage of the manufacturing process. These are trained and qualified QC Staff—not simply machine operators. Processes may require every 30-minute inspections, hourly inspections, or even greater frequency.
Quality control staff inspect tablets and filled capsules for polishing, removal of defects, and to verify quality prior to packaging.
The inspection room is checked and swab tested for contaminants prior to each batch, and approved by quality control staff for production.
Packaged bottles receive a double-seal for safety, cotton (if requested), product label, and/or a retail box.
Final product production is inspected, reviewed and released by quality control staff before exiting the Packaging area for fulfillment & shipping.

Our Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) machine at work. AAS is an analytical machine used to test for trace and residual metals, for example, arsenic, cadmium and lead, in our products.
Our Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR) machine. Infrared spectroscopy is an important technique in organic chemistry. It is an easy way to identify the presence of certain functional groups in a molecule. Also, one can use the unique collection of absorption bands to confirm the identity of a pure compound or to detect the presence of specific impurities.
